Goodwick info

Goodwick is a coastal town in Pembrokeshire, Wales, immediately west of its twin town of Fishguard.

Originally planned to be the end of the Great Western Railway's line and their major sea port, problems with the design of the harbour prevented the larger ocean liners from docking. The port now accommodates a ferry and (seasonal) catamaran service to Rosslare in Ireland operated by Stena Line. Some fishing takes place on a small scale although most activity in the county occurs in Milford Haven.

The main industry is now tourism, although in the town's more industrial past, brick making was also important.

About Wales

Wales is a Celtic country and one of the four constituent parts of the United Kingdom (along with England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland). Wales is located in the south-west of Great Britain, and is bordered by England to the east, the Bristol Channel to the south, St George's Channel in the west, and the Irish Sea to the north.

The main population and industrial areas are in South Wales, consisting of the cities of Cardiff, Swansea and Newport and surrounding areas.
